THIS IS THE ALL NEW TKVOX NANOAMP STORMTROOPER HELMET MOUNTED COMMUNICATIONS SOUND SYSTEM. IT IS SUPPLIED WITH AN INCREDIBLY SMALL BUT POWERFUL ULTRA LOW PROFILE AMPLIFIER (15MM X 47MM X 62MM @ 44 GRAMS), PASSIVE MICROPHONE, POWERPACK, HOVI MIX TIP AERATORS WITH INTEGRATED SPEAKERS, CONNECTORS AND WIRING. GREAT VALUE!

1 x Mic input and
2 x Speaker outputs. Volume control, ON / OFF switch and LED indicator. Operates @ 1 watt but sounds a lot louder!

This is the compressed and compacted cousin of the MicroAmp modular system and is being offered on a limited edition basis. It can be driven to a high volume considering the size of the speakers! When tuned correctly there is ZERO FEEDBACK, yep I said it, NO FEEDBACK. It is ultra lightweight, easily mounted and will run for many hours from 1 x PP3 9 volt battery. No need for an extra microphone pre-amp, the supplied amp takes care of the input power!

Check out the NanoAmp system on YouTube:

Key features:
  • Ultra compact and lightweight helmet mounted comm system, supplied with everything you need to hook up and project sound to the masses. Put the fear of the Dark Side into your audience.
  • Comes with an incredibly small and lightweight 15mm x 47mm x 62mm amplifier mounted in a custom fit case. I've placed a PP3 battery next to the amp to illustrate scale. In addtion, below, there are examples of the amp size compared the MicroAmp and MiniAmp.
  • Side mounted volume stalk. This can be removed once you have adjusted the volume to your preference.
  • High quality flexible boom microphone which is easily fitted. No need for a separate pre-amp stage.
  • Switchable 9 volt hot swap powerpack battery box (the same powerpack as used for my fan kits). Has a discreet built in switch. You can still access the switch with your flight gloves on.
  • Low impact modular snap connectors for sound / power connection.
  • Supplied with Hovi-mix tip aerators with integrated 20mm (3/4") Mylar speakers. Surprisingly powerful for size, connected in series to reduce feedback. All leads are correctly soldered to the speakers.
  • Micro connector block or rapid fit connectors for speaker wires (on the connector block you will need a very small flat head screwdriver to tighten the screws).
  • High quality 3.5mm jack plugs for speakers and microphone.
  • Strain relief built-in to all electrical connections.
  • Generous cable lengths for simple mounting / positioning.
  • Flexible wrap around selected wiring provides protection, neatness and ease of fitting.
  • Industrial hook and loop supplied to fit all components.
  • Ultra light weight construction – the NanoAmp weighs in @ 44 grams.
  • Sexy black finish, neat and simple to install.
  • Static burst created by blowing over the mic – this is not an auto generated sound.
  • Supplied with a PDF installation sheets.
Installation tips:
  • The Hovi-mix tips are ready to mount by drilling 2 X 3mm holes in your helmet – one for the bolt and another for the leads. Just push the leads and the bolt through. Next, fit the washer and the bolt shield, then add the nut and tighten. Please note: DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE NUTS. These are delicate little beasts and need to be treated with care. Inside your helmet, I recommend adding a little blue or white tac around the wires and bolt (hot glue does the job also). This ensures no sound leakage into your lid.
  • Repeat the above process for the other Hovi. Now decide on the length of your wires – don't cut them until you're sure of where you're going to run them. Connect them up in the block and then attach to your amp. Use some electrical tape to cover the wires and you can make them almost invisible.
  • Note: one set of leads is longer than the other. This is so you can compensate for the extra distance between the Hovi's. You can shorten the wires easily by cutting to size with scissors and then gently stripping back the PVC coating with a knife (or wire strippers). Gently does it and it's easy. I suggest you try stripping the off-cut first.
  • Always, always, always be very gentle with the Hovi-tips and leads. Don't pull on the leads as you may dislodge them from the internal contacts.
  • Don't drive the speakers too hard, you will blow them. When you start to hear heavy distortion you know you are at the volume limit. They are loud for their size though.
  • Every kit is carefully tested and quality controlled before it leaves my workshop.
  • If you change your lid, you can easily remove the kit and mount in your new lid!
  • When you fit the microphone, you must centre the mic between the Hovi's. A gap of about 20mm should be between the back of the mic and your helmet. Check out the pics below – you'll see how it's done. This is essential to prevent feedback. I suggest a small strip of hook and loop attached to the boom arm to keep it firmly in position. Please be patient with this process. Once you've got it right it will work perfectly.
  • Hook and loop fit the amp and the battery box. This stuff is really strong and not the cheap rubbish you find in high street shops (if there are any left).
